From London,

Take the M4 to Exit 13 (Newbury, Oxford).
Take A34 (dual carriageway) north towards Oxford. After about 4 ½ miles you see a sign:
EAST ILSLEY, WEST ILSLEY, COMPTON.

Take this slip-road and immediately turn right at T-junction, for WEST ILSLEY. Follow road for about 1 ½ miles, through W.Ilsley village, leaving pond on left and ‘Harrow’ pub on right. Continue in same direction for a further 3 miles till your reach FARNBOROUGH.

Follow road through village. The Old Smithy is the last house on the right, opposite a small T-junction. It is painted creamy-yellow, with gables. Parking area is up a small ramp beyond the house.

From Oxford, and the north

Take A34 south (signposted Newbury, Winchester) past Abingdon and Didcot/Wantage exits, until you see a sign: WEST ILSLEY, RIDGEWAY. Take this slip road, (immediately after a small petrol station), go up over the hill and down into West Ilsley. On entering the village, turn right (signposted Wantage) through W.Ilsley village, leaving pond on left and ‘Harrow’ pub on right. Continue in same direction for a further 3 miles till your reach FARNBOROUGH.

Follow road through village. The Old Smithy is the last house on the right, opposite a small T-junction. It is painted creamy-yellow, with gables. Parking area is up a small ramp beyond the house.

From Bristol and the west:

Take M4 east to Exit 14, then A338 for Wantage and Oxford.
Go through village of Great Shefford, staying on A338 (right angle bend).

2 miles beyond village, at top of a hill, take right fork on to minor road signposted Farnborough (main road bends to left). Take care, it is a blind corner.

Follow minor road for about 3 miles to T-junction. Turn left on to B4494 (for Wantage), then after 200 yards take right turn for Farnborough.
As you enter the village, The Old Smithy is the first house on the left, facing a small road junction. It is a gabled house, painted creamy yellow.

From Portsmouth, Southampton and south-west

Take M3 northward, then after Winchester take A34 (Newbury etc). After bypassing Newbury and crossing M4, continue on A34

After about 4 ½ miles you see a sign:
